What is Lombok ?
Lombok is an island in the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara which is separated by the Lombok Strait from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait to the east from Sumbawa.
The island is more or less circular in shape with a kind of “tail” on the southwest side which is approximately 70 km long. The area of this island reaches 5,435 km² placing it in 108th place on the list of islands based on its area in the world.(*)
In recent years, the island of Lombok has become increasingly popular and is one of the most attractive places to visit in the tourism and culture sector. Here is the main icon of the island of Lombok
1. Mount Rinjani
Rinjani has a height of 3726 m and is the main attraction on Lombok Island. No wonder you can see it from any side on Lombok Island. Lots of visitors from all over the world come just to climb this mountain. Indeed, its beauty cannot be told in words. according to data from TNGR (Mount Rinjani National Park) there are around 80 thousand climbers every year who visit this mountain.
2. International sirquit
Pertamina Mandalika International Sirquit was first planned to be made in late 2016 and was completedly built 3 years later. In November 2021, this circuit successfully held its first superbike world championship. This sirquit is located in central Lombok not far from the Lombok international airport, the location is very strategic close to the beautiful beaches in central Lombok such as Kuta beach, Tanjung An and Seger.
3. Gilli Island
one of the tourist destinations in lombok which is no less interesting is Gilli. namely small islands that are located not far from the coast. the sand looks sparkling clean white with blue sea water. Some of the most famous dyke in Lombok are Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno which are located in the northern part of Lombok.

The population on the island of lombok is the majority of the religion of Islam and are of the Sasak tribe, for this reason the name of this island was made based on the Sasak language which in English means straight / the right way.
Apart from Islam, there is also Hinduism which makes up around 15% of the population and you can also find some immigrants such as Christianity and Buddhism.
